WIN distributors reach out to the needy in Belize to provide medical aid

Several enthusiastic WIN distributors are joining together with the group, Hands and Hearts for Christ (HHC) to travel to Belize and offer medical aid to those in need. This group of volunteers consists of physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurses and many who just want to help in any way possible. This year will mark the group’s 13th trip to Belize.
A lot goes into the planning of these trips, which are funded entirely by fundraisers throughout the year. “Our team consists of all volunteers. Nobody is paid for being a part of our group in any way. The only pay we get is the rewarding feeling of helping somebody else,” shares Dave Long. Once the group arrives in Belize they begin the daunting task of giving care to the countless people in need of medical attention, including performing around 50-60 surgeries while they’re there.
This year Bob and April Wagner, Dr. Jaya Kasturi and Dr. Patty Fredette-Huffman will be joining Dave and Dr. Sue Long to help support this worthy cause. The Longs are so passionate about this cause that they hope to own a home in Belize so they can spend even more time there. “When you go to a foreign country and they have nothing, and you give them something — it’s priceless! Nothing can compare to that!” says Sue. Her time freedom with WIN allows her to serve and remember why she became a physician – to help others in need.
